And so it is… Tiki Tuesday… you made it through Martini Monday, and let’s face it, you need a good, strong, stiff Martini to get you through Monday. However, by Tuesday, things are a bit better, you are back into the swing of things, and what better way to swing like the hula than with a Tiki cocktail?
Mai Tai is the perfect Tiki drink, and while recipes vary (like any recipe), its all pretty simple, a shot of dark rum, a shot of light rum, some fresh squeezed juice from lime or orange or both, serve over crushed or cracked ice and you are all set.
If you want to make it special, add in a splash of Cointreau and/or orange liquor, orange bitters, or even Tiki bitters.
Its a magical drink, the fresh citrus could never be replaced by store-bought processed juices, and when you squeeze it yourself, no need for sugars or sweeteners, its all there ready for you to enjoy.
